Jordyn and Morgan have been members of NewCov CrossFit since February 2018. These two friends started the gym at the same time and continue to work out with each other most days. Coach Johnny Pasquale stated that "They are probably some of the most dedicated members at the gym. Easily there six times per week. With that dedication they have also seen so much improvement in both movement, body image , and conditioning. They also have the most sassiness of all the members. They have come such a long way in the last year."
1. What made you give CrossFit a try?
Jordan: Morgan had asked me to go a few times. I said no for a while but then gave in to her and went to a Saturday noon class next thing I knew we were signed up for a year
Morgan: I had tried other exercises in the past and had not seen the results that I was looking for. After hearing about CrossFit workouts and seeing other people’s success, I wanted to give it a try!
2. What did you think after your first WOD?
Jordyn: Oh gosh that was terrible. I can’t wait to come back tomorrow.
Morgan: The first WOD was extremely challenging but that’s what got me hooked. The high intensity of the workout made me feel like I was dying but once it was done I felt amazing.
3. What’s been you favorite CrossFit memory so far?
Jordyn: My favorite experience so far is Murph last year. It was my first time to do a hero WOD and it really showed me what this community is about.
Morgan: Competing in MURPH for the first time.
4. What’s your favorite movement?
Morgan: Deadlifts 5. What’s your least favorite movement?
Jordyn: Snatches. Any and all types of snatches.
6. Do you follow any specific diet?
Jordyn: I count macros and work with a nutritionist at another local gym.
Morgan: Currently, I am tracking my macros and calorie counting.
7. What’s the biggest improvement you seen in your training?
Jordyn: I think the biggest improvement I have seen this far has been my overall strength and mentality. I am stronger than I was when I started and continue to get stronger and healthier everyday.
Morgan: I have seen a lot of improvements since starting Cross Fit but I feel like my overall health is just better since I started.
8. What advice do you have for beginners?
Jordyn: t gets better. Give it time and trust the process.
Morgan: Don’t give up. It may seem intimating at first but if you stick with it, you will see great results. You’ll also meet some pretty awesome people.
9. What are your goals for the future?
Jordyn: Continue to improve my times on the WODS and hit new PRs
Morgan: I want to continue improving my technique, getting stronger, and continuing to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
